A Biography of the Magnetic Field of a Neutron Star
نویسنده
چکیده
After some post-natal cooling, a spinning, magnetized, canonical neutronstar (NS) has a core of superconducting protons, superfluid neutrons, and degenerate extreme relativistic electrons, all surrounded by a thin highly conducting solid crust. The quantum fluids are threaded by a dense array of quantized vortex-lines which can interact strongly with a denser and much less uniform one of quantized magnetic flux-tubes. The physics of such a core predicts the evolution of a NS’s surface magnetic field and related phenomena as the star’s spin changes. Predictions include changes in NS magnetic dipole moments, anomolously small polar caps in millesecond pulsars, properties of two different families of spinperiod “glitches”, and spin-down ages much greater than true ages for some pulsars. Quantitative model-based estimates for all of these are given. None are in conflict with observations.

Different Magnetic Field Distributions in Deformed Neutron Stars
In this work, we review the formalism which would allow us to model magnetically deformed neutron stars. We study the effect of different magnetic field configurations on the equation of state (EoS) and the structure of such stars. For this aim, the EoS of magnetars is acquired by using the lowest order constraint variational (LOCV) method and employing the AV18 potential....
متن کاملNon-Relativistic Limit of Neutron Beta-Decay Cross-Section in the Presence of Strong Magnetic Field
One of the most important reactions of the URCA that lead to the cooling of a neutron star, is neutron beta-decay ( ). In this research, the energy spectra and wave functions of massive fermions taking into account the Anomalous Magnetic Moment (AMM) in the presence of a strong changed magnetic field are calculated. For this purpose, the Dirac-Pauli equation for charged and neutral fermions is ...
متن کاملحل منحنیهای نوری و مطالعه نقش میدانهای مغناطیسی در تغییرات پریود سیستم UV Leo
The solutions of photometric BV light curves for the Algol like system UV Leo were obtained using Wilson-Devinney code. The physical and orbital parameters along with absolute dimensions of the system were determined. It has been found that to best fit the V light curve of the system, assumptions of three dark spots were necessary two on the secondary and one on the primary. The absolute visual...

In a microlensing event, at caustic crossing, flux of a spot can be magnified several times with respect of the source star. This magnification contrast provide a unique opportunity to measure the magnetic field over a source star. In this work we investigate possibility of magnetic field detection through the Zeeman effect when a source crosses a caustic line. Using Fourier analysis, one can s...
متن کاملاثر مقاومت مغناطیسی متغیر بر ساختار قرصهای برافزایشی با پهن رفت غالب مغناطیده دوقطبی
In this work, we carry out self –similar solutions of viscous-resistive accretion flows around a magnetized compact object. We consider an axi-symmetric, rotating, isothermal steady accretion flow, which contains a poloidal magnetic field of the central star. The dominant mechanism of energy dissipation is assumed to be the turbulence viscosity and magnetic diffusivity due to the magnetic field...
متن کاملEffect of Isovector-scalar Meson on Neutron Star Matter in Strong Magnetic Fields
We study the effects of isovector-scalar meson δ on the equation of state (EOS) of neutron star matter in strong magnetic fields. The EOS of neutron-star matter and nucleon effective masses are calculated in the framework of Lagrangian field theory, which is solved within the mean-field approximation. From the numerical results one can find that the δ-field leads to a remarkable splitting of pr...
